As Destination Queenstown’s digital agency, Data Story has worked alongside the region throughout this journey. Dave will share an inside perspective on what regenerative tourism looks like in practice – the challenges, learnings and opportunities – and how destination marketing can inspire visitors to play an active role in protecting and enhancing the places they visit.

Dave’s presentation reflects his own experience and perspective and is not the official position of Destination Queenstown.

COMPLIMENTARY MEMBER WORKSHOPS

Following the breakfast event, members are invited to continue the conversation conversation at one of two complimentary workshops at Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas from 9:30AM - 11:30AM.

WORKSHOP 1: THREE ACTIONS TO MAKE REGENERATIVE TOURISM A REALITY FOR YOUR BUSINESS

Facilitate by Dave Hockly, Data Story

A working session on your own business, facilitated by Dave Hockly. The workshop dives into the top 3 actions every business must master to be regenerative. Use the time to get hands on:

  • Set the vision. Develop a clear, detailed picture of what your business looks like in three years, with regenerative tourism built into it rather than bolted on the side.
  • Build the margin. Review regenerative principles that make your guest experience harder to copy, so you stop competing on price with the operator down the road and start charging what the experience is worth.
  • Say it well. Explore how to talk about your regenerative work so it attracts guests willing to pay for it, without tipping into greenwashing

You’ll leave with a clearer vision for your business, an understanding of where greater value can be created, and one practical action to take in the next 30 days.

WORKSHOP 2: UNPACKING ECO CERTIFICATION

Facilitated by Corinne Lewis, Eco Tourism Australia

Explore the pathway to Eco Certification and gain a clearer understanding of what certification involves, how it can benefit your business and the practical steps to get started.

When you book your breakfast ticket, simply select ONE workshop you would like to attend.

Whether you’re beginning your sustainability journey or ready to take the next step, this event offers practical insights, valuable connections and achievable actions to help shape a regenerative future for tourism in Noosa.
